Sony UK has worked with TBWA London to create its latest TV advertising campaign, which airs on Thursday 3rd December, focusing on the range of Sony consumer electronics products available to shoppers this Christmas from all UK Sony Centres. This will be the first Sony UK advert to feature Sony’s new global ‘make.believe’ strapline.
The ad, which follows Sony UK’s recent TV trade-in campaign featuring 80s rocker Alice Cooper, demonstrates how Sony Centres give shoppers the ‘total’ Sony experience, where they can buy both software and hardware from across the Sony entertainment divisions.
Shot on location in Prague, the advert begins with a young boy sat in a grey, empty room. As the boy presses a button marked with the Sony ‘make.believe’ logo, the room comes to life, bursting with colour and showcasing a variety of nostalgic toys as well as Sony products, including VAIO laptops, WALKMANs and Readers.
The advert was directed by award-winning Swedish collective, Stylewar, who have worked with household brands such as Nike, MTV, Ikea and Audi, and recently created the BMW ‘Trust Yourself’ advert. Lee Tan was the advert’s creative director and the music, ‘Black and Blue’, was supplied by Sony Music artist Miike Snow.
Matt Coombe, General Manager of Central Marketing at Sony UK said: “As the first Sony UK advert to incorporate the new ‘make.believe’ brand direction, this ad illustrates perfectly how Sony Centres deliver a fun and compelling experience, brought to our customers through the power of our innovation and technology. Once again, we’ve also been able to call on our sister companies to help provide a great soundtrack from Miike Snow, and also PlayStation with its latest products.”
