The best in entertainment, on demand

Sony TVs deliver unrivalled entertainment through the Sony Entertainment Network, including films fresh out of the cinema, a multitude of music and catch-up TV, and video services such as You Tube and the new BBC iplayer app. All Sony Internet Enabled TVs have Wi-Fi built-in, allowing you to get online faster, providing more choice of what to watch. Sony Internet TV is the perfect complement to the Network Media Player "NSZ-GS7" and Blu-ray Disc Player "NSZ-GP9" powered by Google TV. Thanks to the interface integration with Sony televisions, you have direct access to a universe of content just by connecting both devices via HDMI.

Uncompromising detail

If you’ve got the best content, you’ll want to experience it in the best picture quality. Sony’s picture enhancement processor - X-Reality - is now even smarter. It recognises what is being watched automatically and then by analysing each scene intelligently, adjusts the picture accordingly. This has the most significant impact on internet content such as You Tube. The more advanced X-Reality Pro processor enhances images by reviewing scenes against an internal database to refine aspects such as texture and clarity. It can recognise when there’s a face on screen, or a background needing more detail, and adjusts the picture accordingly. Sony has also extended the X-Reality PRO technology on select models to enhance 3D content, delivering a crisper/sharper image in more detail.

Experience more of the third dimension

Whether it’s a sporting event or an action packed movie, watching 3D content is all about being immersed in the experience. Sony’s latest 3D TVs come with high-speed 3D panels which mean even fast-moving images are delivered smoothly, whilst auto-depth adjustment corrects depth perception in 3D content and reduces blur, delivering a more comfortable viewing experience, even when watching 3D content from the internet or 3D video cameras.

Save money and take care of the planet

In Sony’s latest LED TVs, Scene Optimised Energy Saving technology works in conjunction with local dimming and frame dimming. This efficient form of lighting cuts energy use by 15-20% without sacrificing picture quality, giving up to 40% energy reduction over previous models. It’s just one of the ways to help the everyday consumer save money on their energy bills – particularly at a time when the average cost of living has skyrocketed.

The Energy Saving Trust has recognised the efficiency of Sony televisions and concluded that choosing an Energy Saving Trust Recommended Sony television over a similarly sized new Plasma Screen TV can not only save you money, but can also reduce your household’s carbon footprint. A Sony television will emit between 710 and 1880 kilograms less of CO2 over its lifetime when compared to similar sized plasma televisions and save between £196 and £518 over the product’s lifetime.

Choosing a Sony ESTR TV over a similarly sized new Plasma Screen TV will save:

Exciting new designs for 2012

The 2012 range of Sony TVs incorporates sleek and stylish designs, including the EX5/6 and the HX7 with its eye-catching easel stand. However, the stand-out design is certainly the stunning HX8. A sheet of gorilla glass that gives the illusion of no bezel when the TV is switched off, combined with a sleek chrome home theatre stand, creates an elegant look that would grace any room.
